On 29 March the Cabinet of Ministers adopted the amendments to the Cabinet Regulation No. 172 “Regulation on the Information Required to Ensure Provision of Support for Civilians of Ukraine”, adopted on 15 March 2022”.

The decision provides that the civil protection commission may coordinate provision of support in the administrative territory of municipality by using unified state and municipal customer service centres or structural units of municipal customer service.

Law on Support for Ukrainian Civilians also provides that the civilians of Ukraine will be registered in the Register of Natural Person as receivers of provisional protection and a personal identity number will be allocated to them.

Previously, on 3 March, the Saeima adopted the Law on Support for Ukrainian Civilians. The law provides a legal framework to support Ukrainian citizens and their family members who leave Ukraine or who cannot return to Ukraine due to the armed conflict caused by the Russian Federation. The law also foresees to provide general support to Ukrainian society.
