Tipveida depo projekts

On Tuesday, July 6, the Cabinet of Ministers (CM) granted funding to the Ministry of the Interior (State Security Agency) to start construction of a new State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) depot and provide construction supervision in Kandava, Saulkrasti, Dagda, Iecava, Ilukste, Rūjiena, Priekule and Aizpute.

It is planned to locate the structural units of the State Fire and Rescue Service and the State Police, as well as the structural units of the Emergency Medical Service in some places, thus starting to implement the intention of the Ministry of the Interior to establish a unified Disaster Management Center.

In the future, the construction of such centers is also planned elsewhere in Latvia, therefore the Ministry of the Interior has submitted a project application for funding under the Recovery and Sustainability Mechanism Plan. In addition, opportunities to attract other sources of funding will be sought to implement the idea.

As a result of the implementation of the plan, the efficiency of the internal affairs services and working conditions of the employees will be significantly improved, the productivity and satisfaction of the employees will be increased, the co-operation between the services and, accordingly, the response capacity will be improved. Inequalities for workers will also be reduced by ensuring access to services, jobs, and social and health care.

According to the project conditions, their implementation will start in 2021 and they are fully implementable by the end of 2022. The measures to be implemented in 2021 are financed from the state budget program “Contingency Funds”, while the necessary financing in 2022 is included in the preparation of the draft state budget for 2022.

The construction of the fire depot will be carried out according to a standard project developed by join-stock company UPB in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior, the State Security Agency and the State Fire and Rescue Service, paying special attention to the specifics of the services.

According to the results of the procurement procedure, construction works will be performed by society with limited responsibility “ZENG” and society with limited responsibility “RERE BŪVE”.

It has already been reported that on March 18 of this year, the Cabinet of Ministers supported the project submitted by the Ministry of the Interior for 27.3 mln. the allocation of euros for the construction of the depot of the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), as well as for the purchase and adaptation of the building for the needs of the State Police (SP).
