On Wednesday, April 14, the Interior Minister Sandis Girgens announced that a meeting on internal security will be held immediately, in which the management of the Latvian Association of local Governments, the Association of large cities of Latvia, the local Government Police and the Association of Managers and Managers of Latvian houses, as well as the management of the State Police and other Interior services will participate.
Today, the State Police received information that a particularly serious crime has taken place in Riga, Purvciems and a person who has died at the scene has been shot. The home affairs services are currently working under an enhanced regime throughout the national territory.
The State Police asks to refer to witnesses and drivers of the event, whose vehicles are equipped with video recorders and who were driving on Gunars Astra Street from Dzelzava to Deglav Street this morning between 6.30 and 8.30 o'clock. Please contact the police by calling 110. The State Police calls for no fear of providing information guaranteeing anonymity.
