Baltinava

On Monday, June 15, President of Latvia Egils Levits, Interior Minister Sandis Ģirģens and Chief of State Border Guard General Guntis Pujāts travelled to Baltinava to participate in the commemorations of the Masļenki tragedy of 15 June 1940.

During the commemorative events, the President made a statement, as well as a solemn setting of flowers at the memorial site of the Maslenk tragedy in Baltinava. This was followed by a visit to the Baltinava Museum, where an exhibition dedicated to the Massalen tragedy was exposed.

During a visit to Baltinava, the President of Latvia looked at the border of Latvia-Russia, as well as visiting farmers' holdings “Riekstiņi” and “Amatnieki”, which were recognised as Latvia's most beautiful agricultural holdings in 2016.
