On Thursday, January 21, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the new regulations “List of Objects of High Danger”.

The new list includes 468 facilities, most of which include gas stations, oil product bases, plants with significant quantities of hazardous substances, temporary storage facilities for fertilizers, and railway terminals.

The list includes information with the name of the relevant category facility, contact information, description of the activity, classification criteria and the amount of hazardous substance in tonnes.

In accordance with Cabinet Regulation No. 563 “Procedure for Identification and Designation of High-Hazardous Objects and Civil Protection and Disaster Management Planning”, the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), based on current information submitted by institutions, establishments and merchants, prepared the new High-Risk Object list.

The type and amount of information included in the list of high-risk objects is necessary in order to be able to control the observance of civil protection requirements in high-risk objects. The owner or legal possessor of the mentioned objects must develop, coordinate with the SFRS and approve the civil protection plan of the high-risk object, as well as submit the approved and coordinated civil protection plan of the high-risk object to the relevant local government.

The previous list of high-risk objects was approved on September 11, 2018 and included 432 objects.
