On Thursday, June 3, at the remote extraordinary sitting, the Saeima expressed confidence in the Minister for the Interior Marija Golubeva (Attīstībai/Par!).
Taking the position of the Minister for the Interior, M. Golubeva points out that her task will be to increase respect and trust between the society and the home affairs sector, take care of improving working conditions in the home affairs services, educate home sector employees, attract them to the service, and introduce competitive remuneration.
Marija Golubeva has been a Member of the Saeima of the Republic of Latvia since 2018, a member of the Saeima Secretary and “Attīstībai/Par!” Head of the Saeima faction. Since 2017, until now, she has also been a member of the board of the political party “Kustība “Par!””.
M.Golubeva holds a doctorate in history from the University of Cambridge, a master's degree in history from the
Central European University, as well as a bachelor's degree in English philology from the University of Latvia.
