Last day, during the period from 11 August of this year .06 .30 to 12 August  06.30, the National Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) received 48 calls – 20 to fire-extinguishing, 19 to rescue jobs, while nine calls were mishandled.

Yesterday at .14 .29 VUGD received an invitation to the  Riga, where a fire of heightened hazard had occurred – the attic of a semi-managed three-story manufacturing building, a roof and an intermediate-floor division of a total area of 1090 m2 burned. Five people were evacuated from the building . At the site of the event, 47 firefighters were working on rescuers, using eight road tankers and three road climbers, and at .18 .19 fire spread succeeded in limiting . One firefighter rescuer who was handed over to medics of the Untaxed Medical Assistance Service (NMPD) suffered during the sting work. . At 22.31 fire was liquidated.

Firefighters also rushed to the call in Riga last night, where a man had suffered as a result of careless handling of the fuel. . By lowering the liquid on the grill, the liquid had turned into a man's clothing and cooled off . The victim was handed over to NMPD medics.

VUGD recalls: Take precautions while fueling grills! The grill needs to be heated correctly – first, the fuel must be sprayed with the liquid, wait for it to get sucked, and then lighted carefully. . Remember that grills should be placed in a safe distance from buildings, trees and shelters, and on a stable surface.

During the last day, fire-fighters also rushed to calls, where garbage burned, dry grass, peat in a potted pot, unhandled building, tractor trailer and rolls, piles of branches, in five cases cereal stubble, hay rolls, comraction, in two cases unattended, burnt food.
