On Tuesday, August 18, the Cabinet of Ministers approved amendments to the regulations on the state of health and psychological characteristics of officials of the institutions of the Ministry of the Interior and Prisons Administration with special service ranks and candidates for official positions to improve the status and psychological characteristics of candidates. the quality of the medical examination of officials.

The amendments envisage supplementing the regulations with two annexes (Annex 7 - factors of the work environment harmful to health; Annex 8 - work in special conditions). It is also provided that the institution has the right to postpone the referral to the mandatory periodic medical examination in certain cases.

Given the critical situation of human resources in the health sector, the amendments provide for mandatory specialist examinations for candidates prior to admission to the service, and for mandatory periodic health examinations to reduce and replace specialist examinations with objective diagnostic methods, which would improve and improve the quality of examinations.

The examination of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances will continue to be performed by all candidates for the service, while for officials it will be performed by a commission specialist or on a random basis, which is more efficient and has the opportunity to be performed by a wider audience. In order to reduce the administrative burden and facilitate the electronic circulation of documents, the possibility will be introduced for the candidate / official to indicate his / her e-mail address to which information on the results of his / her medical examination can be sent.

Also, in order to ensure the protection of the rights of officials of the institutions, as well as candidates, the amendments include provisions on the possibility to review the opinions of the commission.
